Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and PM Frontier LLC (the company behind Aide) for your use of the Aide app, website, and any related services (together, "Aide" or the "Service"). By installing, signing in, or otherwise using Aide, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Aide.
One thing to know up front: Aide does not join your meetings, does not act on your behalf in a call, and does not tell the other parties anything. You are the recorder. You choose what to record, you choose whether to disclose, and you are responsible for following the laws that apply to your call.
1. The Service
Aide is a private, real-time meeting copilot for macOS. It runs locally on your Mac, captures the audio your microphone is already picking up and the audio your computer is already playing through its system output, and surfaces short prompts — risks, sharper questions, contradictions against earlier conversations — in a quiet side panel that only you can see. After your call, Aide can write a memo and a follow-up email draft.
Aide does not join Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Webex, or any other meeting platform as a participant. It does not appear as a guest. There is no Aide bot.
Aide may use third-party speech-to-text or language-model providers when you have configured them. See Third-party providers and the Privacy Policy for details.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Aide. If you use Aide on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms, and "you" includes that organization.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. Acceptable use & recording
You agree to use Aide only for lawful purposes and to comply with all laws that apply to you and to the people you meet with — including, importantly, laws about recording, monitoring, and processing conversations.
3.1 You are the recorder
Aide is a tool. You decide when to start it, when to stop it, what it captures, and what you do with what it captures. From a legal perspective, you are the party recording the call. By using Aide, you represent and warrant that, for each meeting you run Aide in:
- You have the lawful authority to record and process the audio of that meeting under the laws of every jurisdiction whose laws apply to it — including any jurisdiction where you or any other participant is physically located.
- Where the applicable law requires the consent of one or more (or all) participants before a conversation may be recorded or processed, you are responsible for obtaining that consent in advance.
- You will not use Aide to capture conversations you do not have the right to capture, including in jurisdictions that require all-party consent, where you have not obtained it.
- You will not use Aide to surveil, harass, intimidate, deceive, or harm any individual, or to violate anyone's privacy, contractual, or labor rights.
3.2 We do not disclose for you
Aide never joins your meeting and never speaks to other participants on your behalf. We do not — and will never — disclose on your behalf that a recording is taking place. If a disclosure is required by law, professional obligation, contract, or simple courtesy, you are responsible for making it. The app provides a short, customizable disclosure script you can paste or read into the meeting if you choose to.
3.3 No legal advice
Recording, wiretapping, two-party-consent, biometric data, and AI-processing laws vary widely between countries and between U.S. states, and they change. Nothing in Aide, on our website, or in any communication from us is legal advice. If you are unsure whether you may lawfully record or process a given conversation, ask a lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction before you use Aide on that call.
3.4 You will not
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of any part of Aide, except where this restriction is prohibited by law.
- Use Aide to build a competing product, or to train a machine-learning model that competes with Aide.
- Resell, sublicense, lease, rent, or operate Aide as a service for third parties without a separate written agreement with us.
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with any security, rate-limiting, billing, or usage-metering feature of Aide.
- Use Aide in any way that violates the rights of any person, the rules of any meeting platform, or any applicable law.
- Attempt to disable, hide, or alter the on-screen indicators in the Aide app that show you when audio is being captured.
4. Your content and meeting data
"Your Content" means everything Aide ingests or generates because of your meetings — audio, transcripts, prompts, memos, follow-up drafts, memory entries, and any files or notes you add. You own Your Content. We do not.
Most of Your Content lives on your Mac, in an encrypted database under your user account. We do not need a copy of it to run our Service. You may delete it at any time from inside the app.
You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, host, copy, transmit, and display Your Content only to the extent strictly necessary to operate the Service for you — for example, to route a request to a configured cloud provider that you have set up, or to deliver an email from you that you have asked us to send. We do not use Your Content to train models, and we do not sell it. See the Privacy Policy.
5. Subscriptions, trials, billing
Aide offers a Free tier with a limited number of trial calls, a paid Standard plan at the price displayed on the pricing page (currently US$89 per month), and a custom Enterprise tier you arrange with us.
- Free trial. The Standard plan includes a free trial of 14 days. We collect billing details at the start of the trial via our payment processor (Stripe). You can cancel any time during the trial inside the app or via the Stripe-hosted customer portal — if you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.
- Recurring billing. When the trial ends, your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. We bill in advance for each billing period.
- Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we will give you reasonable notice before the change applies to your account.
- Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We may, at our sole discretion, offer pro-rated refunds in unusual circumstances.
- Taxes. Prices do not include taxes. You are responsible for any sales, use, VAT, GST, or similar taxes that apply.
- Non-payment. If a payment fails and is not corrected within a reasonable cure period, we may suspend or terminate paid features.
6. Third-party providers
Aide can call third-party services that you choose to configure — for example, Anthropic for language-model intelligence, OpenAI as an alternative, or Deepgram for cloud speech-to-text. When you use those providers, your data flows directly to them under their terms and privacy policies, in addition to ours. We are not responsible for the practices of providers you configure, and your relationship with them is your own.
Aide can run fully on-device if you choose local-only modes for both transcription and intelligence, in which case nothing leaves your Mac. See the Privacy Policy for the data-flow details.
7. Intellectual property
Aide, including the software, the website, the brand, the design, and all underlying technology, is owned by PM Frontier LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Aide as permitted by these terms and your subscription. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
8. Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, or feedback about Aide, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use it for any purpose, with no obligation to you. You don't have to send us feedback — and if you do, please don't send anything confidential.
9. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms by reference. The short version: most of your meeting data lives on your Mac, we don't sell your data, and we don't use it to train models.
10. No warranty
Aide is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and quiet enjoyment.
Aide uses statistical language models. Its prompts, summaries, memos, and follow-up drafts can be wrong. They are not a substitute for your own judgment. Do not rely on Aide for legal, financial, medical, or any other decision without independent verification. We make no warranty that Aide will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will PM Frontier LLC, its officers, members, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including without limitation lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost goodwill, loss of opportunity, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of Aide, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or related to these terms or your use of Aide is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages. In those jurisdictions, the above limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Your indemnity to us
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PM Frontier LLC and its officers, members, employees, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of Aide; (b) your violation of these terms; (c) Your Content; (d) your violation of any law, contract, or right of a third party — including any claim that you recorded, processed, or used a conversation in violation of a recording, consent, privacy, biometric, or labor-and-employment law; or (e) any dispute between you and another party to a meeting in which you used Aide.
13. Termination
You can stop using Aide at any time and cancel a paid subscription from inside the app or via the Stripe-hosted billing portal. We can suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if your account creates legal or operational risk for us, or if we discontinue the Service. If we terminate your account other than for cause, we will refund any pre-paid amounts for periods after the date of termination on a pro-rated basis.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Your Content ownership, Intellectual Property, Warranties, Liability, Indemnity, Governing Law, and Miscellaneous) will survive.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will give you reasonable notice — typically via email or an in-app notice — before it applies to you. Continuing to use Aide after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you don't accept a change, your remedy is to stop using Aide and cancel your subscription.
15. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, U.S., without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive jurisdiction and venue for any dispute that is not subject to arbitration (where arbitration applies) is the state and federal courts located in Wyoming, and you and we each consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at team@myaide.com and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
16. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any order form you sign with us, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding Aide, and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements on the same subject.
- Severability. If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not assign these terms without our written consent. We may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by events outside its reasonable control.
- Notices. We may send you notices via email or in-app. You can send us notices at the address below.
